WPGA Portrait and People

I’ve spent the weekend in the mountains and got back to a wonderful surprise – this image won a Gold Award in the WPGA awards and was thus selected to be featured in the book Portraits and People 2011. The book will benefit Save the Children. The image was shot in my neighborhood a few [...]
Slowing down

What I love about december is the seemingly endless row of Christmas parties with friends, family and colleagues. It’s been a busy week with listening to photographer Arno Minkkinen on monday, a concert in the opera to celebrate my mum’s birthday on wednesday, the camera club christmas party on friday, book signing by Øyvind Hjelmen [...]

The image above of the three generations along with the woman in the doorway below, were accepted. And for the shepherd boy below, a bronze plaque was awarded. I’ve never won a [...]

I’ve been awfully quiet…
I am trying to put together a Blurb book and it is really more difficult than I thought. But I have been very inspired by Susan Hayre Thelwell. Tonight we got the results from the spring competition in Oslo Kamera Klubb, and the image that I am using for the cover of my book won first place [...]

Norwegian Photographic Society
My “Kindergarten” picture was accepted in the 2009 autumn national competition. This is a shot from my neighborhood. The text on the door to the left means “Kindergarten”. To me, this emphasizes the value of beeing in a camera club. In an earlier meeting we were allowed to bring the photos we were considering to use. [...]

Texture and Stone

Pottery in Black & White
This picture is from my friends pottery, and I am working on a series to document her throwing process. I used only window light and a reflector which results in a highlights/shadows challenge. Very proud to have achieved a Picture-of-the week award with an online photography magazine that has 700,000 unique visitors per week. Can’t [...]
The “Vika Boy” got a silver award
This is from Vika in Oslo, where some scenes from the film Max Manus was filmed. The story is from the war years 1940-45. I think the background with the truck and bicycles adds to the war time mood. A smoke machine had been used, which made the background more diffused. I added a sepia [...]
